Brick Siding Looks And Feels Like True Brick However Is Significantly Less Expensive

Veneer is a material that is used in construction for decorative purposes. The material is also referred to as facing and can be found in many different materials. Veneer bricks is one of the most popular kinds of this material and has the appearance of brick without the cost of brick.

The term facing is used to identify the practice of applying another material to the surface of a wall. This material may be applied on internal or external walls and provides a more textured surface and appearance than a standard flat wall that has been painted. Brick is a common material used in facing, however, wood is also popular.

The types of hardwoods that can be found in a veneer are vast. This material makes it possible to use exotic woods in home decorating without the exuberant cost often associated with these materials. Plaster and stone are also popular veneer materials. An attractive setting can be created with the use of these materials.

These building elements are just as conducive to commercial structures as they are to residential structures. When these materials are applied properly it is sometimes almost impossible to tell the difference between facing and the actual material. This is particularly true of wood veneers, where it is often not possible to tell the difference between solid wood and wood veneer.

Veneer brick is often used to create a rustic image, but it also lends itself well to contemporary or classic decors as well. You are not limited to the way this material will look. Using the right accents and other materials you can create any setting you desire.

The application of veneer is actually rather simple. To start the process you need to wipe the existing wall down with a damp cloth and then dry it off. Once the wall is clean and free of any bumps, you can apply a mortar. The mortar works to adhere the material to the wall much as it would with tile. The brick gets placed on top of the mortar and then plastic is set between the bricks till it dries. The purpose of the plastic is to keep the spacing even.

Brick veneer looks particularly smart used around a fireplace and has the illusion of being the chimney. This material also looks good as a closure around a wood burning stove. Another neat decorating trick is to use this material along with some plaster to create the feeling of an old factory loft. A wine cellar or the new cool ‘man cave’ can also be decorated nicely with this material.

Faux Brick Wall is used as a decorating element in the construction or renovation of a residential or commercial space. The Faux Brick Wall material provides the illusion of being solid brick, but it is much more affordable. Applying veneer is very similar to laying tile and can be done rather easily. This material is great in the use of decorating the area around a fireplace or in a that man cave or wine cellar.
