How To Change a Plain Room into a Special Nursery For Your Baby

Decorating and designing a room for a baby has turned into a much {bigger|larger] production than it had ever been. With the age becoming older for parents to be having babies, they also are better off financially and therefore have greater resources to put into the room for their bundle of joy. This has been highlighted quite a bit in recent years showing the elaborate nurseries complete with an exquisite Chandelier that celebrities are having designed for their babies. There are also special TV programs on cable that show designers creating babies nurseries for expectant parents. The current trend is actually quite a good one with parents wanting to have a room that will grow with the baby and can be used for many years from the colors, to the furniture and even the Quoizel lighting.

The traditional nursery paint colors of baby blue, soft pink and light yellow are not the colors that many people choose to paint for their child’s nursery. Many parents are making the nursery be a continuation of the rest of the home with the color palette included. Creamy colors like cream and gold or the popular combination of blue and chocolate have been popular choices for nurseries recently. Many expectant parents know the sex of the baby and then design around that but if you do not find out or want it to be gender neutral, then using soothing greens, beiges and creams are all great ideas.

If you are not sure of what color palette to decorate the baby’s room, then look for the fabric and the bedding for the crib initially and that may help bring inspiration for the space. Having a cutesy theme is no longer in and is thought to be outdated and maybe even tacky. If you want to bring in animals for example, it is now done in a more muted and sophisticated way with great pieces of art, for example. Bedding for a nursery can be found in every price range and does not have to be expensive. If you are good at sewing or know a good seamstress, maybe you can make it yourself using beautiful fabrics.

The other thing that baby furniture manufacturers are now doing is making pieces that can be used for a baby and then be used differently as they get older. For example, a crib now may be changed into a full size headboard and footboard when the baby moves into a big bed. Also, a changing table can have the top pad taken off and have it just be a classic appearing dresser for several additional years of use.

The finishing touches in a nursery are what complete the look and that would include the area rugs, the artwork, and the lights. Having a great plush, neutral area rug that will mature with the baby is a great idea in addition to lighting that you would also choose to have in a bedroom for a grownup. Baby girl’s nurseriesare being changed into sophisticated spaces complete with round cribs and crystal chandelier lights.
