A Electrical Fireplace Is The Best Choice In Alternative Home Heating
Like the animals, human beings require shelter and warmth in colder seasons for both comfort and survival. To this end, human beings have invented quite a number of ways to heat their homes during the times when the weather turns cold; we have fireplaces, woodstoves, electric space heaters, oil-fueled central heat. But, beyond these, in recent times we’ve seen the advent of electrical fireplaces. Now, this is not your father’s electrical fireplace; that is, these aren’t those totally tacky middle class pieces of cheeseball decoration from the 1970s; these are practical fireplaces. If a visitor to your home doesn’t give it a second glance, they’re likely to assume that you have a real fireplace; but, the electric fireplace requires no chimney and no wood.
These modern day three-to-four-feet-wide freestanding electric fireplaces put out a great amount of heat for a relatively low expenditure. Sure, the flames might be holograms or back-panel screens, and the logs might be plastic, but the heat put out by these units is very real. Furthermore, unless someone wants to play Sherlock Holmes and give your electrical fireplace the thrice-over inspection, they’ll probably never know the difference. The average electrical fireplace generates around 10,000 BTUs of heat, but only consumes somewhere in the range of 1400 Watts of energy; not only are they remarkably warm, but they are more energy efficient than many heating alternatives.
Electrical fireplaces also offer control. The heat levels are much easier to control while the heat is also radiated more efficiently and evenly. And, let’s not forget about safety concerns: because electrical fireplaces don’t actually “burn” anything, the possibility of incurring fire damages when you turn the heating element on is minimal if not non-existent. Furthermore, electrical fireplaces do not produce the fumes, vapors, and smoke associated with genuine fire, so you can give your lungs and sinuses a rest this winter. The glass panels and screens surrounding the free standing electrical fireplace are often designed to remain cool to the touch as well, so you won’t have to worry about pets or small children accidentally burning themselves.
So if you’ve been trying to find a more efficient and less expensive heating alternative to keep your warm and cozy this Winter, why not check out the electrical fireplace? It’s truly better than the traditional fireplace for many people.
